Marrakech - High Atlas Mountains - Kasbah Ait Benhaddou - Dades Valley
Your journey begins as we pick you up from your accommodation in Marrakech. Driving through the spectacular High Atlas Mountains, we’ll pass the scenic Tizi n’Tichka pass at 2,260 meters, offering stunning views of Berber villages and terraced fields.
Our first stop is the UNESCO-listed Kasbah Ait Benhaddou, a magnificent red-earth fortress that has served as a backdrop for numerous films. After exploring this historic site, enjoy a leisurely lunch before continuing through the “Road of a Thousand Kasbahs”. Along the way, we’ll stop at Kalaat Mgouna, known as the “Rose City” for its fragrant rose products. Finally, we’ll arrive at the stunning Dades Gorge, where you’ll settle into a charming hotel for the night.
Day 2: Dades Valley - Todra Gorges - Erfoud - Merzouga
After breakfast, we head to the impressive Todra Gorges, a spectacular canyon with towering red cliffs reaching up to 300 meters high. Take time to enjoy a leisurely walk through this natural wonder before continuing to Erfoud, renowned for its fossil workshops and local markets.
Next, we visit Rissani, a lively market town where you’ll experience the authentic culture of southern Morocco. From there, we continue to Merzouga, the gateway to the Sahara Desert.
Upon arrival, a camel trek will take you across the golden dunes to your luxury desert camp. Arrive at the camp and enjoy a warm welcome with traditional mint tea before settling in. In the evening, spend the night enjoying traditional music, dancing around the campfire, and gazing at the stars under a breathtaking desert sky.
Day 3: Explore Merzouga - Desert adventure
Wake up early to witness a stunning sunrise over the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi. After breakfast, enjoy a full day exploring the Sahara and discovering the unique desert way of life.
Your day begins with a visit to Khamlia, a small village known for its soulful Gnawa music. Local musicians will welcome you with rhythmic beats and songs deeply rooted in African heritage.
Next, venture off-road to M’Fis, an old village once famous for its galena mines. Explore the remains and learn about the challenging lives of the miners and the history of the area.
Later, meet a nomadic family living near the dunes. Inside their traditional Berber tent, share a cup of tea and gain insight into their daily life and desert traditions.
After lunch, return to Merzouga to relax at your riad. In the late afternoon, you may choose an optional quad biking or buggy experience for a sunset adventure, or simply walk into the dunes to enjoy the calm and silence of the desert.

Day 4 : Merzouga - Draa Valley - Ouarzazate
Wake up early to witness a magical Sahara sunrise. After breakfast and a refreshing shower at a nearby hotel, we journey through the rugged landscapes of Alnif, Tazarine, and Nekob, making our way to the lush Draa Valley. This region, lined with millions of palm trees and dotted with kasbahs, offers picturesque scenery and a glimpse into traditional Berber life.
Our day ends in Ouarzazate, known as the “Hollywood of Africa” for its famous film studios and cinematic landscapes. Spend the night in a comfortable hotel, reflecting on the day’s wonders.
Day 5: Ouarzazate - Atlas Mountains - Marrakech
After breakfast, we’ll visit the impressive Taourirt Kasbah, a former palace of the Glaoui family. Next, we’ll explore the Atlas Film Studios, where many Hollywood blockbusters were filmed.
The journey back to Marrakech takes us through the winding roads of the High Atlas Mountains, offering spectacular views of valleys, villages, and shepherds tending their flocks. We’ll stop for photos and enjoy the fresh mountain air at the Tizi n’Tichka Pass before descending into Marrakech, where your 5-day tour from Marrakech to Merzouga concludes.
